Additional Play of the week to Dr. Kevin Westbrook for coordinating an excellent volunteer opportunity with the Teddy Bear Clinic at the Nation Museum of Health and Medicine at Fort Detrick. Thank you to Dr. Rebecca Morgis, Dr. Brandon Neal, Dr. Colin McNamara, Dr. Lisa Sukenaga, and two great rotating fourth year medical students, Brenda Zhang and Simal Ali for volunteering!


Play of the week to Dr. Bailey Howard who coordinated four ED consults and multiple admissions during a shift, part of which she was the only resident on the Ward. Thank you for stepping up!

  • There are currently no COVID vaccines available at Walter Reed, with the new update to CDC recommendations for boosters for everyone greater than 6 months, order has been placed for large supply going forward.

  • Please do not send anyone to the Immunizations Clinic for COVID vaccine at this time.

New Century Scholars Resident Mentoring Program

  • The NCScholars Program is a mentorship program aimed at increasing the diversity of the academic pediatric workforce.

  • As part of an ongoing commitment to increasing provider diversity in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP), the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) has partnered with the Academic Pediatric Association (APA) to sponsor one pediatric resident per year in the New Century (NC) Scholars Resident Mentoring Program.
